The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of several Dangote Cement Company workers in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo Station tate, on Monday evening. The Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed that a rescue operation is underway to secure the release of the kidnapped workers.
According to Nwabuzor, the Divisional Police Officer of Okpella Division promptly mobilized a team of operatives, including policemen, soldiers, vigilantes, and hunters, to conduct a bush-combing exercise in search of the victims.
The police have confirmed that some of the kidnapped workers have been rescued, and the command will provide further updates as the situation develops.
The incident is currently under investigation, and the police are working to ensure the safe return of all the kidnapped workers.
