The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on Friday arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja for a crucial judgment.
The court is expected to deliver its verdict in a suit filed by some PDP officials from Abia, Imo, and Bayelsa States, seeking to stop the party’s 2025 national convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan.
The plaintiffs allege irregularities in the process leading up to the planned convention and have asked the court to halt the exercise pending the resolution of their grievances.
Party insiders say the presence of the PDP chairman, Governor Mohammed, and several NWC members underscores the significance of the ruling, which could determine whether the convention will proceed as planned.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened around the court premises as party members and supporters gather in anticipation of the judgment.
