Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has officially presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag to Hon. Rabiu Muktar, the party’s candidate for the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency by-election.
The event took place in Babura town, ahead of the by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025, following the passing of former representative Hon. Isa Dogonyaro in May 2024.
Top APC officials from Garki, Babura, and 25 other local government areas attended the flag presentation. Governor Namadi praised the peaceful and transparent selection process, commending party members for demonstrating unity and political maturity.
He also appreciated other aspirants for embracing the consensus decision and urged the candidate to seek divine guidance and always prioritize the people’s welfare.
In his acceptance speech, Muktar expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and promised to run an inclusive campaign. He pledged to work with all stakeholders to secure victory for the APC.
Before the event, the governor and his team toured various towns including Doko, Garki, Kargo, and Jigawa Dan Ali to rally voter support.
APC State Chairman Aminu Gumel formally introduced Muktar before the governor handed over the party’s flag.
