Super Eagles veteran and freshly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, has vowed to revive the club’s glory days and elevate it back to elite status on the African football scene.
This assurance was conveyed through an official release from the club’s Media and Communications Directorate on Tuesday in Kano.
During an introductory session held on Monday with Club Chairman Alhaji Ali Umar and members of the board, Musa pledged his dedication to working hand in hand with all relevant parties to restore the club’s former dominance.
The former striker for Leicester City and CSKA Moscow emphasized Kano Pillars’ historical significance in Nigerian football, stating that reversing its recent struggles would demand strategic collaboration and focused planning.
“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said.
“I want to assure everyone here that with your support and the backing of the board members, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.
“Having played here and with the experience I gained in Europe, I believe I can contribute meaningfully to help the club achieve its full potential,” Musa said.
He also pointed out that realizing these goals would take a shared vision, consistent professionalism, and total dedication from everyone involved — including management, players, supporters, and external stakeholders.
According to a report from the News Agency of Nigeria, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf recently gave the green light for Musa’s appointment, a strategic move aimed at restructuring the team and steering it toward global standards.
The club, which boasts four titles in the Nigeria Professional Football League, is now looking ahead to a fresh chapter marked by development and competitive excellence under Musa’s stewardship.
