Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has declared his full support for the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio in the 2027 general elections.

Governor Eno made this commitment during his first appearance at the South-South APC Stakeholders Meeting held on Saturday in Benin City, Edo State. The event marked a major show of unity within the party as Tinubu was officially endorsed as the sole APC presidential candidate for 2027.

A statement from the governor’s media team on Monday revealed that four incumbent APC governors from the South-South region also received automatic tickets to run for second terms.

Speaking at the summit, Eno highlighted his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and regional development. He emphasized that his participation, alongside a delegation of stakeholders from Akwa Ibom, reflects his loyalty and alignment with the APC’s broader goals.

“This is my first outing with the APC South-South family, and I came with a full team to demonstrate our seriousness and loyalty,” he said. “We are fully committed to the APC and determined to work for the success of President Tinubu, the Senate President, and all our candidates.”

Eno also praised the Federal Government’s commitment to key projects in the region, such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the proposed South-South Development Commission, which he described as signals of renewed inclusion for the region.

Reaffirming his administration’s “Akwa Ibom United” governance policy, Eno called for continued partnership across political divides to drive development and unity.

The stakeholders’ meeting, themed “Renewed Hope in Action: Strengthening APC Mobilisation and Governance in the South-South,” ended with a communiqué endorsing Tinubu’s 2027 candidacy and passing a vote of confidence in the President, Senate President Akpabio, the four South-South APC governors, and the party’s zonal leadership.

Dignitaries at the meeting included Cross River and Edo State governors, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, federal and state lawmakers, ministers, and other top party leaders. APC Acting National Chairman Alhaji Ali Dalori and South-South National Vice Chairman Chief Victor Giadom were among those who delivered goodwill messages, with Dalori formally welcoming Governor Eno to the APC.
