Shooting Stars (3SC) continued their fine run in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier League, recording a second straight victory after coming from behind to beat Warri Wolves 2-1 in Ozoro on Sunday.
The hosts struck first through Igbunu Evwierhurhoma in the 54th minute, breaking the deadlock after a tight first half. But the Oluyole Warriors staged a late comeback, with Qamar Adegoke drawing them level in the 84th minute before Adams Mustapha turned the game around two minutes later.
The win follows last weekend’s triumph over newly-promoted Kun Khalifat and lifts 3SC to sixth place on the standings with eight points from six matches.
In Aba, Barau FC picked up their first win of the season by beating Kun Khalifat 3-1 in a clash of newcomers. Ebuka Nwokorie gave Khalifat an early lead in the 14th minute, but the advantage was short-lived as Yahaya Ibrahim equalised almost immediately. Hillary Ekawu then put Barau ahead midway through the second half, before Ibrahim struck again late on to seal the points.
Elsewhere, Nasarawa United climbed to the top of the table after a convincing 2-0 win against Katsina United. Last season’s leading scorer, Anas Yusuf, opened the scoring just before halftime, while Abubakar Abdullahi added the second in the 73rd minute to wrap up the victory.
In Lagos, Enyimba were held to a 1-1 draw by Ikorodu City, a result that leaves them just a point behind Nasarawa United in the title race. Meanwhile, Rangers International and Wikki Tourists shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 encounter in Bauchi.
Despite their fighting spirit, Rangers remain in the relegation zone with only five points from five games. At the bottom, Barau FC, Kano Pillars, and Kun Khalifat complete the struggling pack after six rounds of matches.
