The fourth edition of the Insurance Meets Tech (IMT) conference has received strong backing from major players across Nigeria’s insurance sector, further establishing the annual event as the foremost platform where insurance, technology, and culture converge.
In a statement released on Saturday, the organisers of the conference announced that the robust support from both corporate sponsors and institutional partners underlines the growing importance of the IMT series in shaping the future of insurance in Nigeria. This year’s edition, themed “Innovating for the New Trybe”, is designed to spotlight how digital adoption and cultural relevance are redefining the way insurers engage with today’s consumers.
Several leading insurance companies, including Leadway Assurance, Enterprise Life, Cube Cover, emPLE, SanlamAllianz, Cornerstone Insurance, and Lasaco Assurance, have all pledged their support for IMT 4.0. Beyond corporate backers, the conference has also secured strategic partnerships with major industry institutions, such as the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). These collaborations, according to the organisers, give the event both depth and credibility, ensuring that conversations at the forum are not only innovative but also aligned with regulatory and professional standards.
Odion Aleobua, Convener of the IMT Conferences, emphasized the significance of the widespread industry support. He noted that the calibre of sponsors and partners reflects a shared commitment to advancing a future where technology, innovation, and lifestyle integration form the backbone of Nigeria’s insurance industry. “With this level of backing, IMT 4.0 is positioned to make its boldest impact yet,” Aleobua said.
One of the key sessions at the conference will be the Executive Dialogue, which will be led by the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin. The session, themed “NIIRA: A New Era Beckons”, will provide a deep dive into the recently published NAICOM Insurtech Guidelines and their far-reaching implications for the sector. The dialogue is expected to serve as a roadmap for both regulators and insurers as they navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of digital insurance in Nigeria.
In addition to the executive discussions, the conference will also introduce IMT Redefined, an experience that blends culture, lifestyle, and Afrobeats with the business of insurance. The idea, according to organisers, is to creatively position insurance not just as a financial safety net, but as a lifestyle enabler one that protects ambitions, businesses, and everyday living. This cultural infusion aims to make insurance more relatable, especially for Millennials and Gen Z, who form a growing share of Nigeria’s insurable population.
By bringing together thought leaders, regulators, innovators, and cultural influencers under one roof, IMT 4.0 seeks to redefine perceptions of insurance while promoting the adoption of tech-driven models tailored to the needs of a younger, digitally savvy audience. With strong institutional and corporate support already secured, the event promises to be the most impactful edition yet, driving forward the conversation on how technology can transform insurance into a more inclusive and lifestyle-relevant service for all Nigerians.
