FirstBank Boosts Digital Services with Biometric Technology

FirstBank has rolled out advanced facial biometric technology on its mobile banking app,
FirstMobile, as part of efforts to enhance its digital banking experience. The latest upgrade
introduces facial recognition for user sign-up and account activation, adding an extra layer of security and convenience for customers.
In addition to biometric features, the update includes the introduction of virtual credit cards, which are designed to enable safer and more secure online transactions.

These enhancements are part of FirstBank’s broader commitment to delivering innovative and customer-centric digital solutions.

According to the bank, the new features aim to offer users a smoother, more secure, and
efficient way to manage their finances digitally. By leveraging cutting-edge technology,
FirstBank continues to strengthen its position as a leader in digital banking within Nigeria
and beyond.

Commenting on the new features, Chukwuma Ezirim, Group Executive, E-Business and Retail Products Division at FirstBank, highlighted the bank’s dedication to improving
customer experience through innovation. He emphasized that the integration of facial
biometrics and other digital tools not only enhances security but also ensures ease of use,
giving customers more control and confidence in their banking activities.

These updates reflect FirstBank’s ongoing drive to stay ahead in the digital space while
meeting the evolving needs of its customers.

With the launch of these new services on the FirstMobile app, FirstBank aims to significantly elevate the digital banking experience for its customers. The bank reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction by making transactions easier, faster, and more convenient.
