Confusion looms as two different political associations applying for party registration have submitted the same acronym, ADA, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The first, All Democratic Alliance (ADA), is promoted by Chief Akin Ricketts and is reportedly one of the political platforms being considered by an anti-Tinubu coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections. This group appears as number 109 on INEC’s list of 110 political associations seeking registration.
The second, Advanced Democratic Alliance (ADA), occupies the 110th and final spot on the list. It is being led by Alhaji Ahmadu Suleiman as the Protem Chairman, with Zipporah Pius Miracles serving as Secretary.
Despite sharing the same acronym, both groups are distinct in leadership and location. The Ricketts-led ADA has its national headquarters at the Ground Floor, UAC Complex, Plot 273 Samuel Adesujo Ademulegun Street, Central Business District, Abuja. In contrast, Suleiman’s ADA operates from 1 Frandriance Close, Off Oda Crescent, Off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
As the 2027 elections approach, the INEC has confirmed that no fewer than 110 political associations have applied for registration as political parties, indicating growing political activity and realignment ahead of the polls.
