Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s two-year administration as a model of visionary and courageous leadership.
Speaking at the inaugural National Dialogue on Citizen Engagement and National Security held in Abuja, Idris outlined key achievements of the Tinubu-led government, emphasizing that the reforms demonstrate a purposeful approach to governance.
Furthermore, speaking at the event, themed “One Voice, One Vision: Uniting Perspectives for a Stronger Nigeria,” the dialogue was organized by the Voice of Nigeria (VON) to bridge the gap between government policies and the daily realities of citizens.
Idris, in a statement by his spokesperson, Rabiu Ibrahim, described the timing of the event as critical, noting Nigeria’s position “at the confluence of purpose and possibility.” He highlighted reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidies, changes in the foreign exchange system, infrastructure investments, and the launch of the student loan program through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and CreditCorp.
He noted, “Just last week, we commemorated the second anniversary of the Tinubu administration with ample proof of its monumental positive impact,” arguing that no previous democratic government had enacted such sweeping reforms in a similar period.
Further citing improvements in food prices, security efforts, local government autonomy, and the creation of ministries for regional development and livestock, the minister said these were signs of progress in policy implementation.
“There can be no national security without national unity. And there can be no unity without trust,” Idris stressed, urging collaboration among government institutions, civil society, media, and security agencies.
He also commended VON’s efforts to promote national identity through multilingual broadcasting and outreach to Nigerians in the diaspora.
In closing, Idris encouraged all stakeholders to uphold values such as truth, equity, transparency, and compassion in public service.
