Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly made it clear to Juventus officials that his main objective is to secure a move to the Premier League next season, making a transfer to the Turin-based club unlikely.
According to JuveFC, Juventus suffered a setback in their pursuit of the prolific striker during recent discussions with his representatives. The Galatasaray loanee is said to be fully focused on joining an English club rather than continuing his career in Italy.
Sources close to JuveFC indicate that “The Bianconeri presented their long-term vision and competitive ambitions, hoping to convince the Super Eagles star to join their ranks. However, Osimhen was appreciative of their interest but firmly expressed his desire to play in one of Europe’s top-tier leagues.”
Despite Juventus officials making one last attempt to lure the 26-year-old by outlining their strategic plans for domestic and European success, Osimhen remains steadfast in his preference for a move to a more globally recognized and competitive league. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are reportedly among his top choices.
Additionally, the Nigerian striker is open to potential moves to Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich, as both clubs consistently compete for Champions League glory while maintaining dominance in their domestic competitions.
Juventus, acknowledging Osimhen’s position, accepted his stance without further attempts to sway him.
During his loan spell at Galatasaray, Osimhen has delivered a sensational performance, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
With Napoli preparing to part ways with their star forward this summer, reports suggest they are seeking around €75 million for his transfer.
Osimhen’s next move has been the subject of intense speculation, with Barcelona briefly linked as a possible destination to replace Robert Lewandowski. However, SPORT reports that the Catalan club is unlikely to afford his transfer fee and wages.
After rejecting Chelsea’s approach last summer, Osimhen is once again strongly linked with a Premier League transfer, with Manchester United reportedly leading the race for his signature. Meanwhile, Galatasaray is also exploring the possibility of securing him on a permanent deal after his highly successful spell in Turkey.
