In a bold step to address the gender imbalance in Africa’s tech and digital arenas, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, spouse of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has unveiled the Ladies in Tech Africa Programme.
This initiative aims to deliver complimentary three-month tech training to 76,000 women across the continent. Launched in partnership with Africa Missions Global and The Incubator Hub, the programme promises in-depth training in highly sought-after technological skills. Kicking off on August 19, the curriculum will be accessible online, ensuring broad reach.
Adeboye underscored that this free training is designed to remove financial barriers that often deter women from pursuing careers in technology. The programme seeks to forge a strong pipeline of talented female tech professionals, accelerating Africa’s digital transformation and supporting sustainable development.
“Empowering women is fundamental to driving innovation and economic progress in Africa,” Adeboye remarked. “The Ladies in Tech Africa Programme is committed to fostering an inclusive tech landscape where women have equal opportunities to excel.”
Moreover, Adeboye noted that this initiative is in harmony with Africa Missions Global’s Horizon 2033 effort, which aims to equip 100 million Africans with essential digital and creative economy skills for the modern era.
By offering mentorship and career support to emerging female tech entrepreneurs, the Ladies in Tech Africa Programme is set to play a pivotal role in advancing innovation, economic growth, and social development throughout the continent.
