Osimhen’s £500,000 Weekly Demand Stalls Chelsea Deal

Victor Osimhen’s anticipated transfer to Chelsea faces uncertainty due to his steep wage demand of £500,000 per week. Though the Nigerian forward is eager to depart Napoli, where he reportedly submitted a transfer request, his potential move to Stamford Bridge hinges on whether he will lower his financial expectations.

Osimhen, who played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A victory last season, secured a lucrative contract extension with the club in December 2023, significantly boosting his earnings. He currently takes home £1.29 million per month, a significant increase reflecting his stellar performance during the 2022/23 campaign.

Chelsea, in desperate need of a prolific striker, has been in talks with Napoli and Osimhen’s representatives throughout the summer. However, the club appears reluctant to meet his salary demands as they work to trim their overall wage bill.

This could lead to Chelsea pulling out of the race for his signature. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are closely watching the situation, potentially considering a move for the striker.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Osimhen’s future remains unresolved. The final days of the window could prove decisive in determining whether he will secure a transfer to Chelsea or another club.
