Zacchaeus Michael, the interim chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, has been abducted by armed men.

William Aya, the state Police Public Relations Officer, verified the incident on Saturday.

Aya informed our correspondent that the chairman was seized on Friday night while traveling along the Kabba-Okene Road within the Kabba region.

“Yes, I have received the report. The state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has dispatched officers to conduct a search-and-rescue operation. We are managing the situation,” he stated.

Due to the delicate nature of the case, sources speaking under anonymity disclosed that Michael was taken along with several of his aides.

One insider revealed, “Reports suggest that the Acting Chairman of Kabba/Bunu, Zacchaeus Dare Michael, and some of his aides were kidnapped by gunmen on the Kabba-Okene Expressway in Kabba. Authorities are appealing for any reliable information that might contribute to their safe rescue.

“I encourage everyone to pray for their swift and safe return, seeking divine intervention and protection during this challenging period.”
