The CEO of FirstBank, Olusegun Alebiosu, has shown interest in collaborating with the Lagos State government on infrastructure projects. During a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday, Alebiosu emphasized the importance of power infrastructure in Lagos, highlighting its potential to inspire and attract emulation.

He expressed eagerness for a framework from the Lagos State Government, alongside contributions from private investors, to initiate significant power projects aimed at reducing production costs.

Alebiosu stated, “Lagos State’s numerous special projects will continue to receive support from FirstBank. Through these initiatives, we anticipate increased employment opportunities and tax revenue generation, benefiting Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his response, pledged that his administration would sustain productive relationships with financial institutions, notably FirstBank of Nigeria Limited, to meet the requirements of Lagos residents. He noted, “FirstBank occupies a unique position with us because of our mutually beneficial collaborations.

Our longstanding banking partnership with FirstBank has greatly enhanced economic activities. We will continue to foster this relationship, guaranteeing that FirstBank obtains a significant portion of our business.”

FirstBank of Nigeria officially announced Alebiosu’s appointment as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in late June.
