White Lion or Paper Tiger?

There is a very instructive insight on the real status of a lion:

A lion which is strongest among beast, and turneth not away for any (Prov. 30:30).
There is a sense in which a lion (especially white) becomes a paper tiger. When the strongest amongst beasts turns its back in the face of danger, then it must be unsettling and disturbing. So, since the Holy Scriptures cannot be broken, dare we then say that any beast that terrorizes the lion to the point of the latter fleeing becomes the lion and the cowardly lion becomes the prey.

An erstwhile governor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having ruled for eight years, ends his tenure on an EFCC-hunt note. The EFCC, a lion of sort, roars and prowls to the dismay of a self-acclaimed white lion.

Kogi State has had its fair (or unfair) share of strange leadership, peaking in the last eight years to resonate strongly with the nation’s woe-filled season. The indigenes of Kogi would have thought, after the indescribable emergence of a youth as governor, that they were going to have a new lease on life. However, the youth decides to fulfil Scriptures infamously:
And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke; my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions (1 Kings 12:14).
So, youth disregards age and decides to do what it does. The fathers in Nigerian politics have not represented the interest of the people well; youth has outdone age along the line of the absurd.
The governor increased the yoke of Kogites in the last eight years, but the words of Friedrich vin Logau cannot be any truer:
Though the mills of God grind slowly, they grind exceedingly small; though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness grinds He all.

Eight years have come and gone like a dream of the night, but the misdeeds of mortality speak ill of the principal actor. And, because the mills of God grind slowly, they have come through the agency of of the EFCC to grind exceedingly small.

While the move is commendable, it will be an anti-climax if this case is halted and swept under the “proverbial” carpet. We are used to witnessing the travesty of justice in this nation, so if the agency is compromised, “the mills of God” can never be compromised. It is really ridiculous how the white lion aka the paper tiger has not been rounded up for thorough interrogation.

While no names have been mentioned here, the white lion, an apparently endangered specie, must be hemmed in and brought to the mills.
