The Lagos State University law students that participated in the National Inter Faculty Competition have won.

The Redeemers University in Osun State organized the competition, which drew participation from colleges all throughout the nation. The competition’s essay, asynchronous debate, memorial writing, and mooting stages were separated under the heading “The Legal and Ethical Implication of Emerging Technology.”

On May 4, 2024, the LASU handle on X disclosed this by tweeting under the handle @LASUOfficial.

The competition consisted of several rounds that tested the players’ collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Kodjovi Daniel served as the school’s essay writer representative. LASU was represented in the debate stage by Aina Ayomide and Abdulquadri Ajeniya, and in the final stages by Bolajoko Animasaun and Akinrinde Fredrick.

The institution’s success is a “testament to the hard work, dedication, and brilliance of our students,” according to Akinwunmi David, president of the Student Advocate Association at LASU, in his remarks. They have made us very proud and once again shown their superior intelligence.

According to PUNCH Online, the National Association of Nigerian Students hosted a southwest inter-tertiary debate, with LASU coming out on top.

Participants in the “Clash of Thoughts” themed competition came from a variety of institutions, including the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta; Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Epe; University of Lagos; University of Ibadan; and Ekiti State University.

A reward of N10 million had been given by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for LASU’s Aminat Yusuf, who was the overall best-graduating student of the 2021–2022 academic year.

The beneficiary left the university’s Faculty of Law with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 5.0.

“As a token of her brilliance, I will be giving her a token donation of N5 million and the state government will give her an additional donation of N5 million,” Sanwo-Olu said while announcing the reward at the convocation ceremony at the school campus in Ojo.
