Chinese tech giant Lenovo has been named the Official Technology Partner for FIFA in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

In an announcement on Tuesday, Lenovo revealed its commitment to providing advanced devices and data infrastructure aimed at enhancing fan interaction and the overall quality of broadcasts during these global events.

A key component of Lenovo’s sponsorship will be the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is expected to enrich experiences for fans and broadcasters alike. By joining FIFA’s elite group of global sponsors, which includes Visa, Coca-Cola, Hyundai-Kia, Qatar Airways, Adidas, and Aramco, Lenovo enters the top tier of partnerships offered by the football organization.

Lenovo’s CEO, Yuanqing Yang, expressed enthusiasm for this alliance with the world’s largest and most widely-followed sport. He highlighted that Lenovo’s involvement will power these historic events, with record-breaking viewership, an increased number of participating nations, and an unprecedented need for technological support and data management.

“Lenovo is proud to support FIFA’s mission to use technology to elevate the game, enhance fan experiences, and foster innovations that make the sport accessible to all. We are thrilled that our latest AI-powered technology will be showcased in these tournaments, demonstrating the transformative potential of smarter tech,” Yang stated.

Lenovo’s full suite of products, including its ThinkPad laptops, tablets, Motorola mobile phones, servers, and emerging AI-based innovations, will be embedded throughout the 2026 and 2027 tournaments. Lenovo announced that its technology will improve fan engagement both in-stadium and in broadcasts, enable more sophisticated analytics, and provide wider access to data for footballing nations across the globe.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino remarked, “FIFA is committed to expanding football globally and ensuring it’s accessible to everyone. We’re thrilled to have Lenovo join us on this mission, supporting us with the technology, innovations, and initiatives to make this possible.

Technology and data are crucial in helping us understand and connect with fans on a deeper level, and we’re eager to create unforgettable experiences at the 2026 and 2027 World Cups. With Lenovo as our partner, we will invest in digital advancements and AI that will inspire future generations of football lovers.”

PUNCH Online notes that Hisense previously held the role of Official Sponsor for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups in Russia and Qatar.
