Mohsen Antit, the Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria, has announced that direct flights between Tunisia and Nigeria are expected to commence in 2026.

This move is part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing connectivity between the two countries. The introduction of these direct flights is anticipated to facilitate closer business, political, and cultural interactions.

In a recent interview conducted on Wednesday in Abuja, Ambassador Antit emphasized the significance of establishing direct flights as a crucial step toward deepening the ties between Tunisia and Nigeria.

He highlighted that direct air travel is essential for promoting mutual understanding and cooperation, which are vital for fostering robust and multifaceted relationships.

At present, the air route between Nigeria and Tunisia is predominantly serviced by non-African airlines. The only recent addition from an African carrier is Royal Air Maroc, which inaugurated direct flights between Abuja and Casablanca in June 2024.

The upcoming introduction of direct flights by Tunisian airlines is expected to further enhance travel options and contribute to the growth of bilateral engagements between the two nations.
