Yilwatda Hails Tinubu-Shettima Ticket

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has described the presidential ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima as the most formidable political combination in Nigeria’s democratic history.

Yilwatda made the statement on Saturday during the Rainbow Coalition Presidential Campaign Rally held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He said the Tinubu-Shettima ticket represents a combination of political experience, courage and leadership capacity needed to address Nigeria’s challenges and promote sustainable development.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said, “The most formidable presidential ticket we have ever produced in Nigeria is the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.”

He described Tinubu as a courageous leader who had demonstrated the willingness to take difficult decisions in the interest of the country.

According to him, the President had taken steps to address longstanding economic challenges through policies such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market.

Yilwatda argued that the reforms were necessary to strengthen public finances, rebuild the economy and create a foundation for long-term growth.

Although he acknowledged that the policies had created difficulties for households and businesses, he maintained that the administration was working to reduce their impact through social interventions, economic stabilisation measures and infrastructure investments.

The APC chairman also praised Tinubu’s infrastructure programme, particularly major highway projects, which he said would improve connectivity, facilitate trade and create economic opportunities across the country.

He urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid in 2027, arguing that a second term would give the administration an opportunity to consolidate its ongoing reforms.

“Come 2027, we want to continue with this reformer and performer as our President. That is why the coalition and the people of Rivers State, irrespective of political party, have decided to work together for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

On Rivers State, Yilwatda commended political leaders and members of the Rainbow Coalition for supporting Tinubu’s second-term ambition across party lines.

He expressed confidence that the political alliance involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and other stakeholders would strengthen the President’s campaign in the state.

He further predicted strong electoral support for Tinubu in Rivers State, insisting that the coalition would intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
