The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Daniel Bwala, has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) over the composition of its campaign council for the 2027 general elections.
Bwala claimed that content creators make up a significant portion of the membership, questioning the party’s approach to assembling its campaign team.
He expressed his views in a post on X on Sunday, following the unveiling of the council by the NDC.
The presidential aide also alleged that the party deliberately left out the names of media surrogates operating within mainstream broadcasting, accusing some of them of presenting themselves as on-air personalities (OAPs).
In his post, Bwala wrote, “#PeterObi and NDC have released their list of campaign council members and as expected it is filled with content creators.
“They stylishly refused to name their campaign media surrogates in the mainstream media masquerading as OAP.”
His comments came as political parties step up preparations for the 2027 elections by putting campaign teams and mobilisation plans in place.
The NDC had earlier announced the establishment of the council, assigning it responsibility for directing campaign operations across the country and driving support for its candidates.
Under the arrangement, the party’s National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, will head the council as chairman, while its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will serve as co-chairman.
National Chairman Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe was named vice-chairman, with the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, designated co-vice-chairman.
The council’s administrative leadership includes National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, as secretary, and Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim as director-general.
According to the party, the body will offer strategic direction and lead nationwide mobilisation in pursuit of its vision of a “new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.”
The NDC also promised an inclusive, issue-driven campaign and called on its members, supporters and Nigerians to maintain unity ahead of the polls.
