APC Accuses Atiku, ADC Of Sabotage

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has alleged that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) devised a coordinated strategy to discredit the ruling party’s presidential campaign launch in Kaduna State.

Naija News reports that APC PCC spokesperson Dele Alake made the allegation in a statement released on Saturday, October 24, 2026, as the party prepared to commence its presidential campaign activities in the state.

Alake alleged that Atiku and the ADC had developed plans to mislead Nigerians and influence public perception through the circulation of fabricated reports across conventional media outlets and social media platforms.

According to the APC spokesperson, the alleged operation involved the use of artificial intelligence, deepfake videos, and forged documents to spread misleading narratives about the ruling party, President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and other APC stakeholders.

He maintained that the purported campaign was designed to discredit the party’s rally in Kaduna and create negative impressions about its leadership and preparations ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The council also dismissed claims that security personnel had been deployed specifically to safeguard APC campaign billboards across Kaduna metropolis.

According to the party, the reports emerged after a photograph showing a security vehicle stationed at a junction close to one of its campaign billboards circulated online.

Alake claimed that the image, which he described as showing security operatives on a routine patrol, was deliberately misrepresented to suggest that officers had been assigned to protect the ruling party’s campaign materials.

He further alleged that the narrative was subsequently published by a national newspaper, which the APC accused of maintaining an editorial position critical of the Tinubu administration and the ruling party.

The campaign council also questioned the authenticity of a letter circulating online, purportedly written by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and addressed to Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The document allegedly claimed that the Kaduna State Government had released ₦2.3 trillion to fund the ruling party’s campaign rally.

However, the APC dismissed the purported correspondence as counterfeit, describing it as another attempt to circulate false information and undermine public confidence in the party’s activities.

In the statement, Alake said the council had identified what he characterised as a carefully coordinated effort by Atiku and the ADC to undermine the campaign flag-off through misleading reports and fabricated materials.

He claimed that the alleged activities had intensified within the 24 hours preceding the rally, with several narratives reportedly circulated to mislead unsuspecting Nigerians.

The APC spokesperson accused the opposition of exploiting digital communication channels and emerging technologies to manipulate public opinion and damage the reputations of the ruling party’s leaders.

He insisted that the alleged propaganda would not distract the APC from its campaign activities or prevent the party from communicating its political agenda to Nigerians.

The accusations come amid growing political activities and preparations by various parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

However, the allegations against Atiku Abubakar and the ADC were made by the APC campaign council, and the statement did not provide independently verified evidence establishing their involvement in the purported scheme.
