The All Progressives Congress (APC) has introduced changes to the membership and leadership of its presidential campaign organisation as the party intensifies preparations for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Naija News reports that the latest adjustments involve leadership positions in the council’s Youth Mobilisation and Women Mobilisation directorates, as well as new appointments to other departments. The development forms part of efforts to strengthen the campaign team and improve its ability to coordinate political activities ahead of the next presidential contest.
The changes were disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the council’s Secretary, Hope Uzodimma, who outlined the new appointments and the responsibilities assigned to the affected officials.
As part of the restructuring, Dr Farouk Adamu Aliyu has been appointed to lead the Directorate of Stage Organisation and Management, while Adejare Bello has been named Co-Director of the department.
The council also announced a new leadership arrangement for its youth engagement department, appointing Ayo Olawande as Director of Youth Mobilisation. Dayo Israel has been selected as Deputy Director and is expected to assist in coordinating activities aimed at strengthening the party’s connection with younger voters.
Similarly, changes have been made to the Women Mobilisation Directorate as the campaign organisation seeks to improve its engagement with women across the country.
Under the new arrangement, Dr Mary Aille Idele has been named Director of Women Mobilisation, while Dr Betta Edu will occupy the position of Deputy Director. Hon. Imaan Suleman has also been appointed Secretary of the directorate.
According to the council, the adjustments were designed to improve its administrative framework, strengthen collaboration among departments and ensure that campaign operations are carried out more effectively ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The organisation explained that the revised structure was intended to establish a more coordinated, representative and performance-oriented campaign team capable of reaching different categories of voters.
It further emphasised the need to increase political participation among young Nigerians and women, describing both groups as important stakeholders in the party’s efforts to secure another presidential mandate for Tinubu.
The statement noted that the appointments reflected the council’s determination to establish an efficient campaign structure that would support its mobilisation activities and promote the president’s re-election bid.
The newly appointed officials were consequently encouraged to apply their professional experience, leadership abilities and organisational expertise in discharging their respective assignments.
They were also expected to maintain effective communication with other directorates and relevant campaign committees to ensure that their activities remained consistent with the council’s broader objectives.
The council stressed that cooperation among the different departments would be necessary to implement its plans, coordinate outreach programmes and strengthen its campaign operations nationwide.
The latest changes come as political parties begin to consolidate their structures and prepare for the 2027 general elections. For the APC, the reorganisation represents an attempt to improve internal coordination and reinforce its mobilisation strategy ahead of the presidential contest.
The performance of the newly appointed leaders will be crucial to determining how effectively the council engages supporters, expands its grassroots presence and advances Tinubu’s second-term ambition in the months leading up to the election.
