The spokesperson for the Senate, Yemi Adaramodu, has disclosed plans for a forthcoming supplementary budget of N6.6 trillion led by the administration of Bola Tinubu. This budget is slated for submission to the National Assembly once it reconvenes on July 2nd. Adaramodu highlighted that the proposed supplementary budget aims to finance various significant development projects nationwide.

Key projects earmarked include the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the proposed Sokoto-Badagry Road. Additionally, funds are set aside to complete ongoing railway projects lacking sufficient counterpart funding. Adaramodu also mentioned provisions in the budget for the rehabilitation and expansion of dams and irrigation schemes.

He emphasized that the executive is currently finalizing the budget details and assured that it will be promptly forwarded to the National Assembly upon their resumption. The spokesperson stressed that these enhancements are designed to bolster agricultural production and contribute to broader economic growth across the nation.
