The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the successful completion of the upload of all its governorship, deputy governorship and State House of Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the party, the exercise covered 56 governorship and deputy governorship candidates as well as 1,015 State House of Assembly candidates across the states where elections will be held. The APC described the achievement as a major milestone in its preparations for the next electoral cycle.
APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, congratulated party leaders, members and candidates for completing the nomination process within the timeframe set by INEC. He said the successful upload reflected the party’s organisational capacity and readiness for the 2027 elections.
Yilwatda stated that with the nomination phase concluded, the party would now focus on engaging Nigerians on its programmes, policies and the Renewed Hope Agenda as it intensifies preparations for the elections.
The completion of the upload comes ahead of INEC’s deadline for the submission of candidates’ details by political parties. Other political parties are also expected to conclude their nomination processes in line with the electoral timetable.
Political analysts say the completion of the nomination process marks the beginning of another critical phase in the build-up to the 2027 general elections, as parties shift attention to campaigns, voter mobilisation and issue-based engagement across the country.
