“January 16 Is a Bad Day” – Cleric Warns Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Election

The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that rising insecurity and the proposed date for the 2027 presidential election could hinder President Bola Tinubu’s chances of re-election, describing January 16 as “a bad day” for the President.

Ayodele made this known in a video that circulated widely online on Wednesday, where he spoke about what he described as emerging political and electoral signals ahead of the next general election.

“Apart from other factors, as I have said, January 16 is not favourable for Tinubu’s victory,” he stated.

In the video, the cleric suggested that worsening insecurity across the country might force authorities to reconsider and possibly change the election date. He further emphasized that the currently proposed date does not align with a positive political outcome for the President.

“Insecurity may compel them to shift the election date,” Ayodele said.

He added that ignoring the warning and proceeding with the proposed date could have significant political consequences.

“But if he chooses to go ahead with January 16, he will see what will follow. That day is not favourable for his victory,” he cautioned.

Anticipating possible criticism, the cleric insisted that his remarks were based on spiritual insight rather than political bias.

“Anyone can criticise it, but I am only sharing what I see and know,” he added.
