Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, has announced her intention to establish a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to empowering the girl child.
Speaking after receiving an additional ₦2 million prize from BetKing in Lagos, Imisi described the gesture as both inspiring and overwhelming. The prize was awarded for a competition she won during her time on the reality show, sponsored by the betting company.
Reflecting on her challenging childhood, Imisi expressed a strong desire to give back to young girls facing similar struggles. “I am happy and grateful. Growing up as a girl was a dramatic time for me, and I want to do something meaningful for the girl child, perhaps a foundation,” she said.
The actress-turned-reality star credited BBNaija with boosting her public profile. “I’ve been acting for a while, but Big Brother Naija gave me the exposure I needed, and I’m truly grateful,” she added.
At the cheque presentation, BetKing’s Head of Marketing, Nengi Akinola, explained that the company aims to reward housemates while promoting its exclusive games to a wider audience through the BBNaija platform.
“We introduced games like Danfo Lagos and JJ Ball X this season, and BBNaija helped us reach an entertainment-focused audience. This collaboration has great potential, and we are assessing its impact for future plans,” she said.
