The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has encouraged judges to remain resolute in their duties without succumbing to fear. He emphasized the importance of integrity and steadfastness in upholding the rule of law, addressing newly appointed judges at an induction course held at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja, with Justice Jummai Hannatu Sankey conveying his message.

Ariwoola emphasized the need for humility in recognizing the limits of one’s knowledge and seeking guidance through education and support, advising the new judges to learn from their peers.

He reminded them that the pursuit of justice requires making difficult decisions and facing ethical dilemmas, emphasizing that justice is an ongoing commitment to fairness and integrity.

The CJN highlighted the critical role of judges as guardians of the rule of law, stressing its profound impact on individuals, communities, and society at large. He underscored the responsibility of judges as custodians of justice and defenders of the rule of law.

In his welcome address, Justice Salisu Garba Abdullahi, the NJI Administrator, echoed the call for steadfastness and integrity among the new judges. He emphasized their role in addressing injustice, safeguarding the rule of law, and promoting equality and human rights in Nigeria.
