Heirs Energies , Africa’s largest indigenous-owned integrated energy company, has confirmed that its Chief Executive Officer, Osa Igiehon, will represent the company at the 2025 US-Africa Energy Forum in Houston, Texas. The annual forum is a major platform that brings together U.S. and African policymakers, financiers, and private sector stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration in investment, innovation, and sustainable development in Africa’s energy sector.
In a statement issued on Monday, Heirs Energies revealed that Igiehon will deliver an Executive Insight at the event and also participate in the Explorers Town Hall session. During his engagements, he will share the company’s strategic outlook on unlocking Africa’s energy potential in a responsible, sustainable, and inclusive manner. Central to his message will be Heirs Energies’ ambitious agenda of driving Africa’s transformation from a continent grappling with energy deficiency to one that enjoys energy sufficiency.
“At Heirs Energies, we believe the future of exploration in Africa lies in two key areas: tapping into frontier plays that are yet to be explored, and delivering excellence in brownfield operations — the responsible management of long-producing assets,” Igiehon said.
He emphasized that African-owned companies, when equipped with the right tools, vision, and expertise, can lead the charge in managing energy resources sustainably and profitably. According to him, Heirs Energies is setting a strong example by operating with world-class standards while ensuring that the benefits of resource development are broadly shared.
The company is currently making substantial investments in energy infrastructure and technological innovation aimed at providing reliable power for households, industries, and communities across Nigeria. A major aspect of its work is focused on gas commercialization. Heirs Energies already supplies gas to three power plants in Eastern Nigeria and is expanding infrastructure to further contribute to Nigeria’s electrification agenda.
“Every molecule must count — not just for boosting production volumes, but for powering homes, fueling industries, and demonstrating what indigenous operators are capable of,” Igiehon added.
The 2025 US-Africa Energy Forum will focus on building a favorable investment climate across the hydrocarbon, gas, and renewable energy sectors. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and global energy transition goals, the forum aims to drive partnerships that can ensure long-term energy security for the African continent.
Heirs Energies’ participation underscores its commitment to these objectives and its belief in the power of collaboration to advance Africa’s energy future. By taking an active role at the forum, the company aims to foster meaningful partnerships, highlight African capacity, and champion the narrative that Africa can lead its own energy transition while meeting global standards.
Through strategic dialogue and responsible energy development, Heirs Energies is positioning itself at the forefront of Africa’s energy evolution.
