Google and venture capital firm Accel have teamed up to launch a new investment initiative aimed at supporting early-stage artificial intelligence startups in India. The program seeks to combine financial support with strategic guidance, helping promising companies build AI-driven solutions across multiple sectors, from healthcare and finance to education and enterprise technology.

Under this initiative, selected startups can access funding of up to $2 million, as well as mentorship from both Google and Accel experts. In addition, participating firms will gain access to Google’s advanced technical infrastructure, including cloud-based AI tools, machine learning models, and specialized software platforms, which can help accelerate product development and market readiness.

The fund specifically targets startups that are creating innovative AI applications, including machine learning solutions, natural language processing tools, intelligent automation systems, and generative AI technologies. By providing both capital and technical resources, the program aims to help local entrepreneurs scale their ideas into globally competitive products.

Industry analysts note that the collaboration highlights the increasing international focus on India’s AI ecosystem, which has grown rapidly over the past few years due to a large talent pool, supportive policy frameworks, and a booming technology sector. Combining Accel’s venture capital experience with Google’s AI expertise, the fund is expected to foster a network of startups capable of tackling complex technological challenges while driving practical real-world applications.

Beyond immediate funding, the initiative will also facilitate knowledge sharing, workshops, and networking opportunities, ensuring that entrepreneurs have access to the guidance and industry insights necessary for long-term growth. The program reflects a broader effort to strengthen India’s position in the global AI landscape and to empower startups to harness advanced technology for business innovation, social impact, and economic growth.
