OnePipe Launches Auto-Pay Feature For Nigerian Users

In a move aimed at easing the struggle of keeping up with recurring expenses, Nigerian fintech startup OnePipe has introduced an automated payment scheduling tool on its PaywithAccount platform. The addition is meant to curb the frequent issue of missed utility and service payments faced by many Nigerians.

The rollout follows findings from a recent EFInA report, which showed that about half of Nigeria’s adult population failed to make at least one essential payment over the past year. These lapses often lead to disconnections, late fees, and unnecessary stress.

The new PaywithAccount feature allows users to set up automatic, recurring payments directly from their bank accounts through paywithaccount.com, removing the need for constant reminders or manual transfers.

Akin Olunloye, Product Manager for PaywithAccount, said the tool was designed to meet Nigerians’ growing demand for smarter and more convenient financial solutions.

“Managing monthly payments has become a significant source of stress for many Nigerians.

This scheduling feature within PaywithAccount is a direct response to the need for automation. Our goal is to help consumers streamline their payments reliably and consistently,” he said.

The payment scheduler currently works with leading electricity providers such as Eko, Ikeja, Abuja, and Ibadan DISCOs, as well as major mobile network operators—MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile. OnePipe noted that more options, including insurance payments and cooperative dues, will be added soon.

Early users have commended the tool’s simplicity and effectiveness. Chinyere, a lawyer in Lagos, said that automating her electricity bills has completely stopped the issue of missed payments and that receiving instant WhatsApp receipts has made the process effortless. Sodiq, a digital marketer, shared that the feature helps him manage multiple personal and business payments seamlessly, even when he’s travelling or busy.

This launch comes amid growing reports that many Nigerians, especially in cities, face regular disruptions in essential services due to delayed or forgotten payments.

With this new feature, OnePipe aims to make financial management easier, consistent, and worry-free, giving users peace of mind as they handle multiple responsibilities.

PaywithAccount, created by OnePipe, is a digital payment automation platform that enables users to efficiently manage and schedule routine payments straight from their existing bank accounts.
