Omah Lay Sparks Concern After Disturbing Snapchat Rant: “I’m Losing My Mind Again”

Popular Afrobeats star Omah Lay has fans worried after a series of alarming posts on his Snapchat, where he lashed out at his team, the music industry, and himself ending with a chilling declaration: “I’m losing my mind again. I need help.”

This emotional outburst follows a familiar pattern for the Port Harcourt-born singer. The last time Omah Lay publicly struggled with his mental health, he turned his pain into art, creating his critically acclaimed debut album Boy Alone. Now, with his upcoming album Clarity of Mind in the works, fans are wondering if his current struggles will once again inspire another musical masterpiece or signal a deeper crisis.

In a raw and unfiltered Snapchat rant, Omah Lay vented frustrations about his record label, management, and the pressures of the industry. He also expressed regret toward his younger self and seemed completely disillusioned with his current reality.

The artist has recently made headlines for controversial reasons, including the leak of alleged messages with fellow Afrobeats star Rema, whom he seemingly accused of copying his sound. He also ended his professional relationship with long-time manager Muyiwa “Donawon” Awoniyi, who hinted that Omah Lay was trapped in a “slave deal” with his label, Keyqaad.

The singer’s emotional outpouring has drawn mixed reactions on social media. While some dismissed it as attention-seeking behavior, many others expressed genuine concern for his mental health.

“This isn’t just a celebrity drama,” one fan wrote. “He’s clearly crying out for help.”

Others speculated that, just like with Boy Alone, his pain might fuel another classic album. But this perspective raises ethical questions—should fans hope for suffering just to get good music?

Omah Lay has been teasing his second studio album Clarity of Mind for over a year, describing it as proof that he’s “the greatest of his generation.” With his recent emotional turmoil, listeners are eager if not worried to hear how his struggles will shape the upcoming project.

Still, it’s important to remember: behind the fame, Omah Lay is a human being grappling with real emotional battles.

While fans may eagerly await new music, the priority should be Omah Lay’s mental health and well-being. His message, “I’m losing my mind again”, shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Artists are not just vessels for entertainment; they deserve support, care, and the space to heal
