The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Crown Princess Victoria Désirée of Sweden will be visiting Nigeria from Monday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry, Kimiebi Ebienfa, on Sunday.

During her visit, the Crown Princess will participate in high-level discussions with Nigerian officials aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries. On the first day, she will meet with Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, followed by discussions with Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Governor of Lagos State.

A significant highlight of her visit will be the unveiling of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos, a step towards expanding bilateral trade between Sweden and Nigeria.

The statement reads, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the official visit of Her Royal Highness Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, to Nigeria from Monday, 7th to Wednesday, 9th April 2025. During her stay, the Crown Princess will engage with top Nigerian officials and participate in discussions focused on enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation between both nations.”

Ebienfa also noted that the visit reinforces the strong ties between Sweden and Nigeria, with a focus on trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange.

The ministry expressed Nigeria’s commitment to further strengthening its relationship with Sweden and looks forward to the positive impact the visit will bring to both countries.

“This visit emphasizes the strong and friendly relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Sweden, and our shared commitment to cooperation in areas such as trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange. Nigeria remains dedicated to deepening ties with Sweden, and we are optimistic that this engagement will bring fruitful results for both nations,” the statement concluded.
