The Niger State Ministry of Communications, Technology, and Digital Economy has teamed up with African Women in Tech Sales to empower women in the state with technology sales skills, promoting their involvement in the swiftly expanding digital economy.

The revelation was issued in an announcement on Tuesday, accentuating the alliance’s emphasis on empowering women with the know-how required to thrive in technology sales, a sector predicted to expand by 17 per cent over the ensuing five years.

The project seeks to generate economic prospects for women, stimulate entrepreneurial endeavors, and amplify their roles in Africa’s digital transformation.

According to the Commissioner for Communications, Technology, and Digital Economy, Suleiman Isah, “Women in Niger State and across Africa mastering technology sales is more than just a career opportunity—it’s a gateway to global economic influence, innovation, and leadership.

“By equipping women with these skills, we are opening doors to new possibilities, enabling them to contribute to the continent’s digital transformation.”

He further declared that the inaugural technology sales training for women would be held at the ICT Centre, State House, Minna, on March 13, 2025.

The announcement applauded Jennifer Jemedafe Salau and the AWITS team for their dedication to empowering African women in tech sales, characterizing their leadership as pivotal in paving the way for the upcoming generation of female technology sales entrepreneurs.

“We urge other states and educational institutions to partner with Jennifer and her team to drive these projects forward nationwide and continent-wide,” it added.

AWITS stressed that the initiative is not solely about acquiring skills but also about establishing a systematic route for women to secure employment opportunities, construct enduring careers, and contribute significantly to the global technology sector.

The collaboration corresponds with global forecasts suggesting that the technology solutions market will surpass $5tn by 2026, positioning tech sales as a rewarding career avenue.
