Controversial Nigerian singer, Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has reached out to Burna Boy to apologize for the recent case that led to his detention.
Shortly after Speed Darlington’s release, a statement was released by his lawyer, Stan Alieke, on social media clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Speed Darlington was reportedly detained after Burna Boy filed a petition against him for sharing a video that stirred controversy on social media. Fans who noticed Speed Darlington was absent for some time expressed worry.
In the statement, Alieke explained that Speed Darlington’s videos were intended purely for entertainment, not to defame Burna Boy. He also stated that Speed Darlington is known for bringing joy to his audience, and his comments were misinterpreted.
Alieke also addressed the comment from Speed Darlington about Burna’s mother. He explained that Speed Darlington holds his own mother in high regard and never intended any disrespect, and the comments were taken out of context.
To make amends, Speed Darlington personally reached out to Burna Boy and his team to properly apologize.
“Our client has privately reached out to his colleague and his team in the spirit of brotherhood and extension of an olive branch and to offer further clarification in person to him,” the statement partly read.
