The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 29 suspected internet fraudsters in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, revealed in a statement that the suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, following credible intelligence about their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
According to the statement, 32 mobile phones of various types were recovered from the suspects, who were arrested at different locations in Gwagwalada. The anti-graft agency will prosecute the suspects once investigations are concluded.
This operation demonstrates EFCC’s continued efforts to fight against cybercrime and financial fraud in Nigeria.
