The head of an Abuja “one chance” robbery group was captured by Nigerian police after he physically assaulted a pregnant woman, ending her pregnancy.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, announced this on his X account on Sunday.
He clarified that prior to the occurrence, the woman had been trying for a child for more than eight years. She was the victim of a “one-chance” robbery in Abuja.
Adejobi termed the incident “wickedness” and said the suspect was being tried in court and had been taken into custody once more for the same crime.
A police official promised that the perpetrator would be brought to justice after releasing images of him with the wheel spanner that he is said to have used to strike the pregnant woman.
Adejobi wrote, “This is a ring leader of one chance robbery gang in Abuja. He used this wheel spanner to beat a pregnant woman (one chance victim) until she had a miscarriage. The woman had been waiting for a child for more than eight years.
“This is wickedness. Anyway, he’s having a trial in the court and has been arrested for the same offence again.”
“One chance” is frequently used to describe a robbery committed by a group of criminals who pick up people who are waiting for a bus or taxi just to rob them.
