Starlink, the satellite internet provider, has announced an increase in its monthly subscription fees. In a communication to its customers on Tuesday, the company indicated that this price hike will impact both new and existing subscribers.
The standard residential package will now be priced at ₦75,000, while the mobile regional (roam unlimited) package will cost ₦167,000, and the mobile global (global roam) package will be set at ₦717,000. The new rates will be effective immediately for new customers and will apply to existing users starting October 31, 2024.
The company explained that the price adjustment is due to “excessive levels of inflation,” necessitating a change in service fees to align with current economic conditions.
“Your monthly service price will increase in one month, starting from 31 October 2024. For new customers, the price increase takes effect immediately,” the message read.
Additionally, customers who wish to cancel their service can do so at any time without facing any penalties.
