Bovas and Company Limited has suspended a manager in Ibadan, Oyo State, after the manager took some petrol station attendants to a herbalist regarding an alleged theft incident.

This information was shared in a statement on the company’s Facebook page on Sunday.

The suspension was prompted by a viral video that showed individuals, believed to be employees of the company, gathered in a room where they were made to swear about the alleged theft of company funds in front of a herbalist.

In the video, a man identified as the manager explains to the herbalist how the money went missing, while someone in the background identifies them as Bovas staff.

In response to the video, Bovas condemned the manager’s actions, calling them unprofessional.

The company stated that the manager has been suspended and an internal investigation is underway.

The statement read, “We have become aware of an unfortunate incident involving one of our station managers that has appeared on social media. This manager took inappropriate and unauthorized actions in response to a theft case at the station. Bovas and Company Limited strongly condemns this behavior and distances itself from any actions that violate our core values of integrity, transparency, honesty, and professionalism.

“Upon learning of this incident, we immediately suspended the station manager and initiated a thorough internal investigation. We assure the public that appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken in accordance with our company policies and Nigerian law.”

The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining ethical standards across all its operations.

“We are dedicated to upholding the highest ethical conduct at all our locations. Our station attendants and managers receive regular training on the importance of integrity and due process; we do not tolerate actions that undermine this trust.

“At Bovas and Company Limited, we prioritize the safety of our employees and the trust and loyalty of our customers, and we will continue to uphold the principles that have established us as a leading name in the downstream oil and gas sector.”
