President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on October 14 as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together key party leaders and stakeholders responsible for coordinating the ruling party’s presidential campaign.

Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who serves as Director-General of the campaign council, disclosed the development after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

Yari said the President had approved the proposed campaign timetable, including plans for a series of political engagements across the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, the council’s inaugural meeting would provide an opportunity for members to finalise arrangements and coordinate activities for the forthcoming campaign.

He also disclosed that the APC planned to commence its presidential campaign with a rally in Kaduna State on October 24, before moving to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The full campaign timetable is expected to be made public after the inauguration.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who serves as secretary of the campaign council, is among the prominent party figures expected to play key roles in coordinating its activities.

Other members include party chieftains and political stakeholders assigned to various directorates responsible for mobilisation, administration, election planning, legal affairs, media and strategic communications.

The council was constituted to coordinate the APC’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with Tinubu serving as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.

Meanwhile, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Dr Betta Edu, who heads the council’s women mobilisation directorate, have commenced efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots engagement with women across the country.

The mobilisation initiative is designed to expand the party’s outreach through community engagement, local networks and other activities across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The APC leadership is expected to use the campaign council to coordinate its political messaging, mobilise supporters and organise activities ahead of the election.

The October 14 inauguration will mark a significant stage in the party’s preparations, coming ten days before the planned campaign flag-off in Kaduna.

With political activities gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, the APC is expected to outline further details of its campaign strategy following the inauguration.
