Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Monday took a subtle jab at his longtime friend and political ally, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, over his recent alignment with President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during the commissioning of projects in Karu, Abuja, Wike highlighted the infrastructure developments carried out in the area and contrasted them with what he described as years of limited progress despite Aduda’s previous positions in government.
Addressing the former senator, Wike said, “Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, you are here today. You served in the House of Representatives and later as a senator under previous administrations, yet none of these developments happened in Karu.
“But today, under a president who understands and cares about rural communities, Karu is benefiting from roads and water projects.”
The minister also urged residents of Karu to reciprocate the Tinubu administration’s efforts by supporting the APC in the 2027 general elections.
“As the saying goes, one good turn deserves another. We have delivered these projects for you, and I believe the people of Karu will remember this and support us when the time comes,” Wike said.
He further expressed confidence in Aduda’s political future, congratulating him in advance on what he suggested could be a return to the Senate.
“I hear you may be heading back to the Senate very soon. You know who is likely to win the next presidential election, and you have aligned yourself with that mandate. Congratulations in advance,” he added.
