Prince Babatunde Alabi, a seasoned journalist, attorney, public relations specialist, and law lecturer at Elizade University in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, has been chosen to serve as the Olosi of Osi-Ekiti, Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Following a laborious process that included traditional divination, Prince Alabi emerged in front of a large gathering of indigenous people, government officials, and monarchs at the Ido-Osi council. On Sunday, the kingmakers declared him to be the heir apparent.

The Arubiojo Ruling House of Osi-Ekiti is where the Olosi-elect is from. His tenure at NTA, Akure, was remarkable, and he ended his career there as the News and Sports Editor. The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) elected him as its national president once. He is an Elizade University law professor.

The oracles of the land were confirmed by the Odofin of Osi-Ekiti, the head of the seven-member kingmakers, who clarified that the selection of the new Oba was made unanimously. He wished the king a long and fruitful reign.

The required paperwork for the selection has been processed in the interim in preparation for government approval.

Bamidele Omoleye, the chairman of the Ido-Osi council, confirmed that the procedure followed official government protocol. He wished the Oba well and commended the Osi-Ekiti people on the flawless exercise.
