2027: Arewa Forum Warns Tinubu Against Unrealistic Promises

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to avoid making promises it may not be able to fulfil as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

The National Publicity Secretary of the ACF, Baba Mohammed Tukur, gave the warning on Thursday while commenting on the political developments ahead of the 2027 elections.

Tukur advised the government to focus on addressing the concerns of Nigerians rather than making unrealistic promises for political gains.

He stressed the importance of accountability and urged political leaders to ensure that their campaign promises are realistic and achievable.

According to him, Nigerians would carefully assess the performance of the government and compare its promises with what has been delivered before deciding who to support in 2027.

The ACF spokesperson also called on the government to prioritise issues affecting citizens, particularly the economic difficulties facing many Nigerians.

He maintained that political leaders seeking the support of Nigerians must demonstrate their commitment through concrete actions rather than relying solely on campaign promises.
