The Deputy Director-General of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement (OK Movement), Prince Abubakar Suleiman, has said the group is targeting 10 million votes for the joint presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the 2027 general election.
Suleiman disclosed this in Michika, Adamawa State, while addressing key stakeholders of the movement.
He said the group had established functional structures at the ward, local government and state levels across the country, adding that it had developed a grassroots presence across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
According to him, the movement has mobilised supporters who believe in the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket and its ability to address the country’s challenges.
Suleiman said the group had completed its mapping and mobilisation efforts and was confident that it would deliver 10 million votes to the ticket.
He also commended the Director-General of the movement, John Ughulu, for his efforts in expanding its structures and strengthening its presence across the country.
Suleiman further called on the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to allow the OK Movement to operate as an independent support group.
He explained that although the movement supports the party and its candidates, it is a separate organisation and should not be placed under the direct leadership of the NDC.
“We are partners in progress working for the victory of the party, but we need our independence to function effectively,” he said.
He urged members and supporters of the movement to remain focused, peaceful and committed to their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general election.
