Primate Elijah Ayodele, the founder and spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the political calculations surrounding his administration could face unexpected difficulties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ayodele made the remarks in a recent video shared through his official Facebook account, where he discussed the political situation in the country and the prospects surrounding the next presidential election.
According to the cleric, the strategies currently being adopted by Tinubu and members of his political camp may not necessarily produce the outcome they anticipate. He urged the President and his allies not to become overly confident about their chances based on existing political relationships, structures and alliances.
Ayodele maintained that Nigeria’s political environment remains unpredictable and could undergo major changes before Nigerians head to the polls in 2027. He noted that political developments could take different directions as the election draws closer, particularly when voters begin to assess their personal experiences under the current administration.
The cleric stated that Tinubu could encounter an unexpected political situation if he continues to rely heavily on his present calculations.
“Tinubu will experience a shocking reality. His political strategies will not be effective,” Ayodele said.
He subsequently called on the President to reconsider some aspects of his political approach and remain more attentive to developments across the country. According to him, national events, public reactions and changing political sentiments could have significant implications for the administration as the 2027 election approaches.
Ayodele also had a message for individuals surrounding the President. He cautioned them against creating an impression that everything is politically secure for Tinubu simply because of the support and alliances currently available to him.
The cleric argued that the President needs individuals capable of giving him sincere assessments of the political situation rather than advisers who constantly commend his administration without drawing attention to possible challenges.
He further suggested that developments among opposition political groups could create additional complications for the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the election.
Ayodele noted that political alliances are not necessarily permanent and that relationships between political actors can change as electoral interests evolve. He therefore advised those in government not to depend exclusively on the current political arrangement when preparing for the next general election.
The cleric’s latest remarks form part of his previous commentaries concerning Nigeria’s political direction and the 2027 presidential contest. Over time, Ayodele has made several predictions concerning political developments and the future of the country.
In his latest intervention, however, he encouraged the President and his political associates to remain watchful and responsive to developments across the country.
He stressed that circumstances surrounding the 2027 election could change considerably before voting takes place, making it necessary for political leaders to continuously review their strategies and respond to emerging realities.
The warning comes as political activities and discussions surrounding the 2027 general elections continue to intensify, with parties, political figures and various interest groups already positioning themselves ahead of the contest.
