Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Seyi Makinde, has brought Anthony Ehilebo into his 2027 campaign structure, appointing him as Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication.
The appointment was disclosed in Ibadan on Thursday by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju. The new role takes effect immediately, while more appointments to the campaign team are expected to be announced in the coming days.
According to Makinde, Ehilebo’s background as a lawyer and communication strategist would add significant value to the campaign as the APM seeks to promote its plan to reset the country and win the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde further appealed to Nigerians to identify with the APM, describing the forthcoming election as a defining moment to move the country away from what he called the failed administration of the All Progressives Congress.
“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde affirmed.
The PUNCH reports that Makinde entered the 2027 presidential contest on Thursday, May 14, 2026, after declaring his candidacy under a political arrangement involving the Peoples Democratic Party and the APM.
At a declaration rally held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, and attended by a large crowd, the governor formally announced his ambition, saying, “Today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM alliance.”
