Salah’s Arrival Could Spark Onuachu Goal Surge

Paul Onuachu could enjoy an even more productive spell in front of goal at Trabzonspor following Mohamed Salah’s arrival, according to former club striker Emre Güral.

Güral believes Salah’s presence will attract greater attention from opposing defenders, giving Onuachu more room to operate inside the box and create scoring opportunities.

Salah recently moved to the Turkish side after his departure from Liverpool, and Güral expects the Egyptian winger’s attacking threat to benefit the Nigerian forward.

“Onuachu will receive the ball differently now and have more options in attack. With defenders concentrating on Salah, Onuachu can find additional space. He is a quality striker who has consistently shown that he can score goals,” Güral told Turkiyegazetesi.

The former Trabzonspor forward also believes Salah’s individual quality could make life much easier for Onuachu in the final third.

According to him, opponents will be forced to adjust their defensive approach whenever Salah has possession, potentially leaving gaps for Onuachu to exploit.

Salah’s arrival comes after Onuachu made his return to Trabzonspor permanent following a successful loan spell. The Super Eagles striker enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 season, ending the campaign as one of the Süper Lig’s leading scorers with 22 goals.

Onuachu will now look to combine effectively with Salah as Trabzonspor aim to compete strongly on all fronts this season.
