A report by SCORENigeria on Friday stated that the ex-international collapsed during a football game in Kaduna State. The incident reportedly took place at the Angwan Yelwa pitch, located in the Television area of Kaduna.

Eneramo, aged 40, was introduced as a second-half substitute before suddenly going down without any physical challenge.

A source who spoke to the outlet revealed that attempts to resuscitate him at the scene were unsuccessful, and he was later confirmed dead at a hospital.

The retired striker had an extensive career, featuring for clubs such as Turkish side Besiktas, Tunisia’s Esperance, and Nigeria’s Lobi Stars. After hanging up his boots, he was said to have been managing a football academy.

In reaction to the tragic news, the official Super Eagles X account shared his photo alongside a brief tribute that read, “Rest in peace, Michael.”
