Motorists Stranded as Road Work Blocks Mararaba–Nyanya Route

Road construction along the Mararaba axis has caused heavy traffic congestion stretching from Abacha Road to the Nyanya–Abuja route, leaving many motorists and commuters stranded for several hours.

The ongoing construction work led to a major road blockage, preventing vehicles from moving into Mararaba or heading towards Abuja town. Traffic movement slowed significantly as long queues of vehicles built up across the affected corridor.

Many passengers were forced to remain inside stationary vehicles while others abandoned commercial buses and resorted to trekking to reach their destinations. Commercial activities within the area were also affected as workers and traders struggled to navigate through the gridlock.

Commuters expressed frustration over the situation, noting that the absence of proper traffic control worsened the congestion. Some motorists called on relevant authorities to deploy traffic officials to manage movement and reduce delays.

The road construction, although aimed at improving infrastructure, continues to disrupt normal movement along the busy Mararaba–Nyanya route, increasing travel time and causing inconvenience to daily road users.
