Interest in Nigerian winger Sani Suleiman is heating up across Europe, with several Serie A clubs now reportedly joining the race to secure the AS Trencin forward.
The 19-year-old, who made the move from Akwa United to the Slovakian side in September 2024, has drawn attention from several top European teams, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Bayer Leverkusen.
Suleiman’s performances in Slovakia’s top division have not gone unnoticed, prompting broader scouting from clubs across the continent, and now, Italian teams are actively monitoring his situation. Since arriving in Europe, the winger has registered 10 goal contributions in 36 appearances, surpassing his previous season’s tally of three goals and two assists from eight league outings.
The youngster’s rise has earned him widespread recognition, with CIES labeling him as one of the most complete U-21 wingers currently playing in Europe.
Journalist Rudy Galetti noted in his Substack newsletter that “Several top European clubs are now tracking his situation closely. As previously revealed, Chelsea, Tottenham, Rangers, and Bayer Leverkusen have already expressed concrete interest and now top Serie A sides have joined the race, making moves to position themselves ahead of the competition.”
Suleiman’s current contract runs until the end of the season, although Trencin hold the option to extend it by two years, potentially keeping him in Slovakia until June 2028.
On the international stage, Suleiman has also started making waves. He earned his first call-up to the Nigeria U-20 squad in September and featured in three matches at the U-20 World Cup.
